A product can be excellent at one layer and basic at another. A fast question editor does not automatically provide reliable assessment controls, and a live leaderboard does not automatically support asynchronous training records.

- Evidence: decide what a correct response or useful answer demonstrates.
- Scoring: choose points, dimensions, outcomes or no score.
- Feedback: decide whether it is immediate, delayed, item-level or result-level.
- Result use: define whether the outcome supports practice, a recommendation, certification or follow-up.
This brief makes product selection easier because each feature can be tested against a real requirement.
What a quiz maker cannot prove by itself
Software can apply the rules it is given. It cannot prove that the questions measure the intended construct, that the pass mark is defensible, or that an outcome is psychologically valid. Those are design and evidence questions.
For low-stakes learning or entertainment, a lightweight check may be enough. For hiring, certification, health, legal or high-stakes educational decisions, use qualified assessment expertise and a validation process appropriate to the consequences.
